Antigua July 2021
Dickenson Bay, Sandals Grande Antigua

The more I travel the longer my “Places to Return To” list gets. Which is why I’m so excited to return to the island of  Antigua next week!  Antigua is located in the eastern Caribbean and is best known for fabulous beaches and turquoise water.  In fact the island has 365 beaches, one for each day of the year!   With so many great beaches Antigua is the perfect Caribbean paradise for water lovers, and the Antigua Sailing Week is the most famous regatta in the world.

Antigua is more than just pretty beaches and water though so we’ll definitely get out and explore a bit.   St. John’s is the capital of Antigua and the center of island life.  On Saturday mornings the St. John’s Saturday Morning Market brings in vendors from all over the island.  Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is located in English Harbor and served the British Naval Fleet during the Napoleonic Wars.  Visitors here can enjoy shops, restaurants, and a museum.  From Nelson’s Dockyard visitors can also hike to Shirley Heights.  The summit at Shirley Heights is almost 500 feet above sea level with amazing views of the islands of Guadeloupe and Montserrat.   With such a rich history and plenty of activities both on and off the beach, Antigua offers an amazing Caribbean experience!

Currently there are COVID-19 travel guidelines for travel to Antigua.  Within 7 days of travel I will need proof of a negative COVID PCR test.  I’m flying on American and can upload my test results in the veriFLY app for easier check-in.  On arrival to Antigua I’ll provide a Health Declaration and may be subject to additional screenings.   Vaccinated visitors may stay at bio safe/certified accommodations.  Unvaccinated visitors are required to stay at COVID-19 certified accommodation/lodging and must quarantine and have additional testing prior to being allowed to explore the island.   Visitors are required to observe the island’s protocols and patronize only COVID-19 certified businesses and excursions.

I’m staying at one of my favorite properties in Antigua, Sandals Grande Antigua.  Sandals Grande Antigua is an adults-only resort located on the soft white sand of Dickenson Bay (pictured above). While we are at Sandals we’ll have a live, virtual VIP event showcasing this fabulous resort and the island of Antigua on Friday, July 30th at 11:00am.  If you have ever wanted to know more about Antigua, Sandals Grande Antigua, or just Sandals Resorts in general I encourage you to join us on July 30th!  We’ll even have a special amenity for anyone who books a Sandals or Beaches vacation with us following the event (details in the link below).

Visit https://wheredreamslead.com/dev/events/ to register to attend our VIP event and don’t forget to follow us on our social channels for plenty of Antigua vacation inspiration next week!
