Rachel and James’ Story
This love story began back in December 2013, at the least romantic, and very cliché, place of all… work. Depending who you ask, the story of how Rachel and James met may differ. Rachel would say she noticed James first, teasing him endlessly about the number of boxes he had stacked around his cubicle, and the disarrayed state of his workspace. James would say he was the first to approach Rachel, using a barcode scanner (unbeknownst to Rachel, it wasn’t even charged) as an excuse to walk over to her cube and strike up riveting conversation. Regardless of whom you ask and what they may tell you, the end result was the same – James and Rachel had their first date, an after work “happy hour” for two, at Oya in DC on December 19th. They talked for so long that night about everything from movies, to bucket lists, to traveling; they were the last two people in the entire restaurant, as the waiters and bartenders began cleaning the tables and stacking the chairs to shut the place down. The rest, as they say, is history. After spending countless hours on the phone, and seeing each other nearly every day at work, it was clear these two had a real connection. They both share a love of travel, a love of dogs (Rachel WAY more so), and a love for their family and friends. They also balance each other out in ways that only the truest matches can – James is the calm to Rachel’s storm, and Rachel balances James’s goofiness with pragmatism and endless list making to keep him organized. Despite any differences they may share, they are best friends and can both agree, “it just works.”
The proposal – Knowing how close Rachel is with her family, James figured what better way to propose than in the house she grew up in, in front of her family! With the ring burning a hole in his pocket, James asked Rachel’s dad for his blessing before a nice, casual Sunday night family dinner. After getting the thumbs up, but knowing he couldn’t wait too long to pop the question (Rachel’s dad would have to tell her mom, and her mom is notorious for not being able to keep a surprise), James decided to carpe diem and ask that same night. As Rachel was sitting on the couch in the living room with her mom and brother, James came in and proclaimed he had an announcement to make. Rachel thought he was joking (those of you who know James, know this isn’t a stretch)… until he pulled out the ring box! He got down on one knee, and asked Rachel to marry him right then and there. Of course she screamed yes, and so begins their happily ever after. They can’t wait to share the rest of their lives together, with James’s two children and Rachel’s four-legged love, Kyla, and look forward to celebrating with everyone in Mexico!

Welcome to our Dreams and Destinations wedding website! We are so excited about our upcoming wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and are overjoyed at the thought of having our closest friends and family there to help us celebrate. Resort rates below are based on a 3 night minimum stay and are room total per person, based on the indicated room occupancy for 3 nights (this is the minimum length of stay and may be increased if preferred). Rate below includes room accommodation, taxes, gratuities, inclusive amenities listed above AND round-trip NON-STOP ground transfers from Cancun (CUN) airport to the resort.

FLIGHT INFORMATION
Dreams and Destinations Travel will gladly assist you with your airfare to Cancun, Mexico. If you choose to book your own tickets, please fly into Cancun International Airport (code CUN). Air can be added at anytime to your package, although we do recommend you book earlier, rather than later, since March and April are popular travel months. For guests who choose to purchase cancel for any reason insurance we are also able to offer a payment plan for flights on most airlines upon request. You must purchase cancel for any reason insurance to select a payment plan for your airfare.
Terms and Conditions and Cancel For Any Reason Insurance
Travel insurance is not automatically included in your package and can be priced for you by Melinda (rates may also be viewed below). Payment for cancel for any reason insurance must be included with initial deposit if you select yes on the payment form. Insurance is highly recommended as travel suppliers, airlines and resorts often charge fees for trip change/cancellation after payment has been made. Dreams and Destinations Travel Agency is not responsible for penalties or fees should you change or cancel your trip. The cost of insurance is nonrefundable and insurance policies are non-transferable.
