Why hold your destination wedding at Playacar Palace? Playacar Palace is an intimate, boutique style resort that receives rave reviews from our clients year after year. The resort offers plenty of activities and entertainment for your enjoyment, but also offers a peaceful atmosphere that makes it impossible not to relax and unwind once you arrive. This resort was originally designed to be adults only, but currently does allow children. Playacar Palace is family friendly, however, it is not family oriented. This means that children are allowed on resort and there are programs to keep children entertained, but the resort’s focus is not catering primarily to families traveling with children. Playacar Palace is located right on the beach in Playa del Carmen, next to Señor Frogs and the ferry terminal to Cozumel and just steps away from the legendary 5th Avenue shops Playacar Palace is the perfect spot for guests to explore and enjoy more than just the resort. Most rooms and suites offer ocean views where you can enjoy the sound of the surf or watch the sunset while you relax in the comfort of your in-room Jacuzzi!

Playacar Palace offers resort credits per room based on length of stay. Credits range from $500 up to $2500 (based on 3 night-12 night stays) and may be used for spa, excursions, a portion of your wedding package, golf, romantic dining and wine upgrades. Resort credits do have some restrictions and also come with a 16% sales tax, but offer a great savings for guests overall.
Destination Weddings at Playacar Palace
The resort size at Playacar Palace is perfect for destination wedding groups. The wedding staff, start to finish, are incredible to work with and very responsive. They also offer a number of amenities for wedding groups compared to many other resorts in the area.
Group Comps (2019)
Typically Palace will do comp nights based on lowest room category booked for the 11th room, unless there is an early booking promo or a midweek wedding promo that gives it for every 9th room book. This is calculated based on the number of nights that have 11 rooms booked. For example on a 4 night stay where Night 1 you have 7 rooms, Night 2 you have 22 rooms, Night 3 you have 22 rooms and Night 4 you have 15 rooms you would have a total of 5 comp nights. Complimentary rooms are not inclusive of gratuities and transfers. They also will do two (2) comp 1 category upgrades based on space available.
Complimentary Wedding Amenities Based on Group Size
10 – 19 rooms or 30 – 59 room nights: 1 hour private cocktail
20 – 24 rooms or 60 – 74 room nights: 2 hour private event
25 – 35 rooms or 75 – 107 room nights: 9 hours of private events
Included Private Events Details
Cocktail, Open Bar and Canapés, standard white linens, high table and white fold chairs.
Private meal functions, Buffet style and open bar, Standard white linens, round tables (8 people capacity), white fold chairs and silverware.
Example: If you have 75+ room nights ( this would be 25 rooms staying 3 nights, 15 rooms staying 5 nights or 11 rooms staying 7 nights etc…) then you would be comp’d private event food and beverage. For example you would have 9 hours to work with and could do a 3 hour welcome cocktail and dinner one night and then a 5 hour reception the day of the wedding. With this you are really only paying for entertainment and decor. This would include everyone booked as part of your wedding group. It is not limited to a set number of people with a per person charge for additional. For example if you have 60 people booked as part of your wedding group with Dreams and Destinations your private events would be for 60 guest.
Terms & Conditions:
No day may have less than 3 complimentary hours of events, unless the max concessions earned is less than 3 hours. Shorter events available for an extra charge.
No day may have more than 5 complimentary hours of events, Additional hours available for an extra charge.
Room reservations must be for 3 nights or more in order to count towards benefits. All reservations must be booked through the same group contract. Non-group guest fees will be billed to bride and groom’s wedding account for those guests who book outside the group contract. Rooms with complimentary or free rates do not count towards wedding group benefits.
Beach and rooftop terraces with no elevator access have an additional service cost at prevailing rate.

Important: In order to get group benefits all your guest has to book through the same group contract. 3 nights or longer stay, reservations with less than 3 nights are not counted as part of the group. Guest booking through different sources will incur on additional fees if attending private functions.
