We are thrilled to announce an event we’ve been dreaming of for a long time: our “Vow Renewal Ceremony.”
Many of our friends and family know that we’ve been together since childhood. Because both of our last names started with the letter “D,” we were assigned to the same homeroom at Bloomfield High School. Our first official date was June 27, 1975, which means we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of that special day in 2025! We eloped on March 18, 1980, in Lake Tahoe, California, where we were married at the “Chapel of the Bells.” We spent our one-night honeymoon in Reno, NV, at the MGM Grand, and—fun fact—we promptly lost all our money at the casino!
Since we never had a full-blown traditional wedding with all the “bells and whistles,” we’ve decided to have just that with an exciting destination celebration. Join us for a vow renewal ceremony in beautiful Cancun, Mexico, on May 31, 2025, at the stunning Iberostar Selection Coral Resort!
This celebration marks not only our 50 years together but also our 45th wedding anniversary, Don’s 42 years of sobriety, and our 65th trip around the sun. Yes, we are officially old and now on Medicare—LOL! But this event isn’t just about us. It’s about YOU too! As we enter the “4th Quarter” of our lives, we want to honor each and every one of you who has been part of our amazing journey together. To book your room and submit your $100.00 per person room deposit click on the “Reserve Your Room” button. Please make sure that you include the following information when you submit your deposit.

Melinda will gladly assist you with your airfare to Cancun. If you’d like to add it to your booking, please email her your travel dates and preferred airport. If you choose to book your own tickets, please be sure to fly into Cancun International Airport (code CUN). If you book your own flights, please remember to provide a copy of your flight itinerary in order for us to arrange the ground transfers that are included in your room package.

Travel Insurance and Cancellation

Optional cancel for any reason travel insurance may be added to your package. If you select “yes” for insurance please include the total cost of insurance being purchased for your room in your initial deposit. Pricing is based on the per person cost and is listed below. You have 2 options for travel insurance that ranges from future travel vouchers to full cash refund (less the cost of the travel insurance in both cases).

Dreams and Destinations, Inc. is not responsible for penalties or fees should you change or cancel your trip. The cost of insurance is nonrefundable and insurance policies are non-transferable. The cancel for any reason waiver covers cancellation for any reason up to 24 hours prior to departure. Within 24 hours of travel your catastrophic travel insurance coverage begins for covered reasons and protects you through your trip.
